Scope
This policy applies to headspascout.com and communications sent directly to Head Spa Scout. It does not govern the privacy practices of head spas, booking platforms, map providers, advertisers, or other third-party sites linked from the directory.
Information we may receive
Information you choose to send
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information in your message, including any business affiliation or supporting files you provide. Please do not send sensitive medical, financial, identity, or account information.
Technical and usage information
Like most websites, our hosting, security, analytics, and advertising providers may automatically receive information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, and diagnostic events. This information helps deliver, secure, measure, and improve the site.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies may remember preferences, measure traffic, prevent abuse, and support advertising. Some are set by service providers acting for Head Spa Scout; others may be set by third parties when their services are active.
How information may be used
- Operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
- Respond to messages, suggestions, correction requests, and legal inquiries.
- Research and update directory records.
- Understand site performance and which content is useful.
- Display, measure, limit, and improve advertising.
- Detect fraud, spam, scraping abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms.
- Comply with law and protect rights, safety, and site integrity.
Analytics and advertising
Head Spa Scout uses Google Analytics 4, connected through Firebase, to understand aggregate site use and improve the directory. Google Analytics may receive the page path, referring page, browser and device information, approximate location derived from IP, and interaction or diagnostic events. Where analytics storage is permitted, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish browsers and sessions. Search-query values are configured for redaction in the Analytics property, and the browser coordinates used by “Use my location” are not sent as Analytics event parameters.
The Analytics tag runs only on the production Head Spa Scout domain. It does not run on local development or private preview hosts. Advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization, Google Signals, and advertising personalization signals are disabled in the current implementation. The tag does not load when the browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Analytics storage defaults to denied for visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland unless a future consent interface records another choice.
You can prevent or remove Analytics cookies through your browser settings and can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google describes how it processes information from sites using its services in Google’s partner-sites notice.
Head Spa Scout may also use advertising services, including providers such as Google AdSense or Journey by Mediavine, to fund free content. When activated, these providers may use cookies or similar technologies to select, deliver, limit, and measure ads. Depending on your location and choices, ads may be personalized or contextual.
If Google advertising is activated, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites. You can manage or opt out of personalized Google advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also review broader industry opt-out choices at YourAdChoices.
Before nonessential advertising technologies are activated where consent is required, the site will present consent or opt-out controls and identify the active vendors. You can also adjust browser settings to block or delete cookies, although parts of the site or advertising controls may work differently. Provider-specific controls and disclosures may appear through the consent interface when a provider is active.
If you choose “Use my location,” your browser supplies location coordinates so nearby directory listings can be sorted by distance. Head Spa Scout uses browser session storage only to hand them from the homepage to the results page, removes them after that handoff, and does not add them to the page URL. An unused handoff expires after 30 minutes. You can decline location permission and search by city, state, or ZIP code instead.
When information may be disclosed
Information may be disclosed:
- To vendors that host, secure, analyze, advertise on, or otherwise support the site.
- When you ask us to share it or it is necessary to respond to your request.
- To comply with a valid legal process or enforce our rights.
- To investigate abuse, fraud, or a threat to people or systems.
- As part of a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of the site or its assets.
- In aggregate or de-identified form that is not reasonably intended to identify you.
We do not sell the contents of private emails to head spas. Some privacy laws define targeted advertising data flows broadly as a “sale” or “sharing” even when money is not exchanged; applicable opt-out choices will be provided when those activities occur and the law requires them.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, site integrity, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and provider. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and privacy requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information; to object to or restrict some processing; or to opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, or sharing. Rights and exceptions vary by law.
Send a request to nocturnaldevs@gmail.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may need to verify your request and may retain limited information to document completion. An authorized agent may be asked for proof of authority. You may appeal a denied request by replying to our decision with “Privacy appeal” in the subject.
Children’s privacy
Head Spa Scout is a general-audience directory and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent us personal information may contact us to request review and deletion.
International visitors and changes
The directory focuses on the United States, and information may be processed in the United States or other countries where service providers operate. We may update this policy as the site and its providers change. The date above identifies the latest revision; a material change may also be highlighted on the site.
