Before booking

  • Decide whether you want a wet or dry service.
  • Read the complete steps, not only the treatment name.
  • Confirm the appointment length and estimated door-to-door time.
  • Ask whether consultation or scalp imaging uses treatment time.
  • Confirm whether blow-drying or styling is included.
  • Ask about length, density, detangling and add-on fees.
  • Verify experience with your hair type and current style.
  • Check cancellation, deposit, late-arrival and gratuity policies.
  • Use the official state lookup for applicable licenses.

Tell the provider in advance

  • Product, fragrance, adhesive or essential-oil sensitivities.
  • A diagnosed scalp condition or clinician-prescribed product.
  • Recent color, relaxer, keratin, extension, transplant or scalp procedure.
  • Braids, locs, extensions, wigs or style-specific needs.
  • Preferred pressure and any neck-positioning concerns.
  • Sensory, privacy, mobility, language or hair-covering accommodations.

Ask how to arrive

  • Clean or unwashed hair?
  • Dry or damp hair?
  • Detangled or left in its normal state?
  • No oils, gels, sprays or dry shampoo?
  • Protective style left in place or removed?
  • Regular prescribed products used as normal?

Do not discontinue a prescribed product unless the prescribing clinician tells you to.

During the service and before leaving

  • Confirm pressure and water temperature.
  • Ask before an unplanned product or add-on is used.
  • Speak up immediately about burning, stinging, pain or neck discomfort.
  • Confirm which products were used and how your hair was finished.
  • Check the final bill against approved add-ons.
  • Note the practitioner and exact service for the next visit.

Common questions

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing with an open or flexible neckline works well for a wet service. Ask whether the business provides a robe or protective cape.

Should I arrive with dirty hair?

Only if the provider requests it. Heavy oil, dry shampoo or styling-product buildup can change the service and required time.

Can I go somewhere immediately afterward?

Confirm the finish first. A wet service without styling may leave hair damp or roughly dried, while a dry service can flatten a hairstyle.

What if something burns or hurts?

Ask the practitioner to stop that step immediately. Persistent symptoms or an unexpected product reaction warrant appropriate healthcare advice.
